Distribution: Primarily in the ranges of Pseudotsuga menziesii and Picea sitchensis. Western North America.

Habitat: Coniferous forests.

Description:
Identification Notes:

Fruitbody is circular, fan-shaped, or spoon-shaped, white to dark grayish brown with smooth caps. Flesh is tough when fresh, bony hard and brittle when dry. Pores are small, white to yellowish. Stem is a narrowed fruitbody base or short lateral stem. Causes brown rot.
